Access control for Singapore businesses

In Singapore, access control is increasingly standard for offices, server rooms, medical clinics, childcare centres and any premises that needs to restrict entry to authorised staff only. Beyond security, an access control system gives you a complete audit trail of who was on-site and when, which is useful for compliance, attendance tracking and insurance purposes.

Sentry Systemz installs systems ranging from a single-door fingerprint reader for a small office to multi-door card access systems with centralised management for larger commercial premises. Every installation is fully tested and handed over with user enrolment completed.

System types we install

Biometric fingerprint readers verify identity against stored fingerprint templates. There are no cards to issue or lose, which makes them cost-effective for stable teams. Face recognition readers are available for environments where touchless access is preferred. RFID card and fob systems are fast and convenient, particularly for larger teams or environments with frequent staff changes where cards can be issued and revoked quickly. Keypad PIN systems are the simplest option for low-security applications. Combination readers that support fingerprint, card and PIN on a single unit give the most flexibility.

What the installation includes

We supply and install the access reader, electromagnetic or electric strike lock, door release button, power supply unit and all cabling. For multi-door systems, we install a central access controller that manages permissions across all doors and stores the access log. We enrol the initial set of authorised users during installation and configure any time-based access restrictions you need, for example restricting entry to business hours on certain doors.

Integration with CCTV

Access control and CCTV work well together. We can position a camera to cover each access-controlled door so that every entry event is accompanied by a video record. This combination is standard in childcare centres and medical clinics in Singapore where both staff accountability and visitor management are important. If you are considering CCTV alongside access control, we can scope both in a single site visit and install both in a coordinated engagement.

Frequently asked questions

How much does access control installation cost in Singapore?

A single-door biometric access system including reader, electromagnetic lock, power supply and installation typically costs $600 to $1,200. Multi-door systems with a central controller run from $1,500 upwards depending on the number of doors and reader type. We provide an itemised quote after a site visit.

What is the difference between biometric and card access control?

Biometric access uses fingerprint or face recognition — nothing to carry or lose. Card access uses RFID cards that employees tap on a reader. Biometric is more secure; card access is simpler for high-turnover environments where cards can be deactivated instantly. Many clients combine both: cards for general entry, biometric for restricted areas.

Can I see a log of who entered and when?

Yes. All systems we install include an audit log showing every entry and exit event with timestamp and user identity. Logs can be viewed on a connected PC or exported for compliance purposes.

What happens if there is a power failure?

Electromagnetic locks can be configured fail-safe (unlock on power loss) or fail-secure (remain locked) based on Singapore fire code requirements and your security needs. Battery backup units can maintain operation during short power interruptions.
